Gaesancheck may collect the following information when you use the app:
We do not sell personal data. Saving a walk or reaching a goal does not automatically publish a post. New feed, walk and achievement posts are public when you choose to post them, even if your profile is private. Public posts show the content you share, your display name, avatar and the named pet. Comments and follow interactions are separate from profile visibility. A private profile restricts access to your profile details, pet details and saved courses; it does not hide posts you chose to share. Existing posts saved as private remain visible only to their owner, and existing followers-only posts retain that audience. Blocking continues to restrict access and interaction for signed-in accounts.
Walk posts include the full recorded route, its start and finish, and the statistics shown in the map preview. There is no route-hiding or map-free option for new walk posts. A walk without a GPS route cannot be posted through this flow, and a map that fails to load must be retried before posting. The iOS map image uses Apple Maps. The separate Save route feature retains its existing option to hide points within about 0.12 miles of either endpoint. Your original saved walk stays in your personal history. New feed photos and walk posters use access checks matching their post audience and blocks. Deleting the last post that uses a protected image removes access to that image and queues its stored file for removal; a failed storage removal is retried. Deleting or restricting content cannot recall copies already obtained outside the app.
When you use Share to other apps, the walk image and text you see are handed to the app you choose through the iOS share sheet; that app's own privacy terms apply to what you send.
Saved walk and profile data is stored by our backend hosting provider. Uploaded photos are kept in Cloudflare R2. New feed photos and walk posters use a separate private bucket and are delivered through the app’s access checks. Unfinished walks are saved on your device so you can review or retry uploading them. Deleting a saved walk removes its route data from the active walk record and its retry-response copy; a minimal identifier is kept to prevent an old retry from recreating the deleted walk.
When you create an account or accept an updated version of these documents, we record which Terms of Service and Privacy Policy versions you accepted and when.
Content reports and handling records are available only to Gaesancheck moderators, through moderator accounts in the app and restricted server administration access. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. They are not shown to the reported user or other app users, and the reporter's identity is not shown to moderators in the app. A suspended account cannot sign in and its content is hidden from other users; it is kept so the suspension can be reviewed or reversed. Deleting the reporting account removes its account link and report description and clears associated handling notes; the report category, target identifier, status and action history remain.
You choose when to start a walk. Location permission, including permission to record while the app is not on screen, is required to start a walk. Once started, your walk continues recording while the screen is locked or another app is open. Pausing, finishing, or signing out stops recording. If the app is terminated, recording may stop and the last saved checkpoint can be reviewed when you return. We do not automatically detect or start walks. Heatmap contribution and display are currently disabled; saved walks are not added to a public heatmap. You can revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings.
Your account notification settings control social updates and local health or planned-walk reminders. Device notification permission is also required. Confirmed preferences may remain in use on a device while it is offline; changes made on another device take effect after synchronization.
Gaesancheck is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings > Delete Account. This removes your profile, pets, walks, posts, routes and photos. You can also ask us to delete your data by contacting us; we will complete the request within 30 days.
